Jeff Samardzija, Bo Jackson Added To Scheduled Attendees At SoxFest

(CBS) Marquee offseason acquisition Jeff Samardzija and former great Bo Jackson are among those who have been added to the list of attendees at SoxFest 2015, the White Sox announced Wednesday morning.

In addition to Samardzija and Jackson, the new additions the team announced are: pitchers John Danks, Zach Duke, Dan Jennings and David Robertson; prospects Tim Anderson, Courtney Hawkins, Micah Johnson and Carlos Rodon; former standouts Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Bill Melton, Minnie Minoso and Billy Pierce; and assistant hitting coach Harold Baines.

Those individuals join at least nine players from the 2005 World Series championship team scheduled to appear: infielders Geoff Blum, Joe Crede and Tadahito Iguchi; pitchers Jose Contreras, Jon Garland, Orlando Hernandez and Bobby Jenks; and outfielders Scott Podsednik and Aaron Rowand.

Current White Sox players already scheduled to appear include Jose Abreu, Adam Eaton, Tyler Flowers, Avisail Garcia, Conor Gillaspie, Jake Petricka, Jose Quintana and Alexei Ramirez, as well as pitching coach Don Cooper, hitting coach Todd Steverson and manager Robin Ventura.

SoxFest is set for Jan. 23-25 and will be held at Hilton Chicago.
