Nikola Mirotic Will Play In Rising Stars Challenge

(CBS) Bulls roookie forward Nikola Mirotic has received an invite to All-Star weekend, as he'll participating for the World team in the Rising Star Challenge on Feb. 13.

The game is contested annually between a collection of first- and second-year players and will be televised by TNT.

Mirotic is averaging 7.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 18.0 minutes per game. He's first among all rookies in 3-point field goal percentage and free-throw percentage. Mirotic was the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month in December, when he averaged 9.9 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting nearly 44 percent from the field.

Mirotic will play on a team alongside Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Olynyk, Rudy Gobert, Steven Adams, Dennis Schroder, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dante Exum, Gorgui Gieng and Bojan Bogdanovic.

The U.S. team is comprised of Michael Carter-Williams, Zach LaVine, Victor Oladipo, Mason Plumlee, Elfrid Payton, Nerlens Noel, Trey Burke, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cody Zeller and Shabazz Muhammad.
