Your Chicago: Buddy Guy

(CBS) – Last weekend in Los Angeles, Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy received a lifetime achievement award at the Grammy Awards for his stellar music career.

CBS2's Rob Johnson takes a look at how Chicago impacted buddy's life and his profession.

George "Buddy" Guy went from picking cotton in Louisiana to picking a guitar. And in 1957, when he was just 21, Buddy moved to Chicago to pursue his blues dream.

He became a mentor, an inspiration to a new generation of musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has won numerous awards.

He's still touring all over the world, but in January he can be seen at his club Buddy Guy's Legends all month.
