String Of Armed Robberies Reported On South Side
(STMW) -- Police issued an alert after several early February armed robberies on the South Side.
In each incident, a man approaches a victim, displays a gun and demands property, according to a statement from Chicago Police.
The robberies occurred:
– 4 p.m., Feb. 2 in the 200 block of East 53rd Street;
– 5:55 p.m., Feb. 3 in the 5500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive;
– 4:45 p.m., Feb. 5 in the 5400 block of South Prairie.
The suspect is 25 to 30-years-of age, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-11, weighing 175 to 200-pounds, has a dark complexion and a tattoo below his left eye, police said. He was last seen wearing a black hooded coat with fur.
