Man Stabbed To Death In Back Of The Yards
(STMW) -- A man was stabbed to death Saturday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.
The man, 40, was standing outside with his girlfriend about 4:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of West 47th Street when the couple was confronted by someone they knew, who pulled out a knife and stabbed the man multiple times, police said. The girlfriend was not injured.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:41 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. His name was not immediately released pending notification of his family.
Police said the attacker, a 39-year-old man, has since been taken into custody and charges were pending Saturday night.
