Iconic Clocks Outside Macy's Get A Much-Needed Makeover
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The iconic clocks outside the store formerly known as Marshall Field's are getting a face lift.
Workers have completed work on the clock on the corner of Washington and State. Painters put finishing touches on the black Roman numerals on Tuesday.
The clock face had become badly faded over the years.
Similar work begins on Wednesday on the clock on the corner of Randolph and State, according to a news release from the building current owner, Macy's.
The clock was famously portrayed by Norman Rockwell's "Saturday Evening Post" cover, called "The Correct Time" in November, 1945.
