Cool Temperatures Continue, Scattered Showers Possible Later Wednesday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cool conditions will continue in Chicago on Wednesday, with temperatures likely not reaching past 60, though areas further from the lake will see temperatures 5 to 10 degrees warmer.

North and northeast winds over Lake Michigan will again keep temperatures much cooler along the lakefront.

While temperatures in the outlying suburbs could reach up to 69 degrees on Wednesday, in the city, it's likely to get up to 60.

Spotty showers are possible in the latter half of Wednesday afternoon and early Wednesday evening.

Overnight temperatures will drop to about 40 degrees in Chicago, and then generally will stay in the mid 50s to lower 60s Thursday and Friday, before a significant warming trend on the weekend, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
