Weekend Forecast: Half Dry, Half Wet

CHICAGO (CBS) -- This weekend's weather will be a mixed bag for Chicago, with a mild and bright Saturday, but a steamy and stormy Sunday.

A cold front moved into the Chicago area overnight, leaving the city cool and cloudy on Friday morning, with plenty of fog downtown to start the day.

A stationary front likely will keep storms and showers south of the Chicago area on Friday.

Skies should clear Friday night, as temperatures drop into the low 50s, and then Saturday should be dry and mild, with a high of about 73.

On Sunday, showers and storms will begin moving through Chicago, and could linger most of the day. Temperatures also will rise into the low 80s on Sunday, making for a warm and muggy day.

Next week will start with a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain on Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures again in the low- to mid-80s.
