Think You're A Big Chicago Hockey Fan? Meet 'Blackhawk Bob'

(CBS) -- If there was an MVP of Blackhawks fans, Skokie resident Bob Gertenrich would skate right in to the award.

He has attended every home game since 1966. That is 2,261 games by his count.

As CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports, he's counting on the Hawks to get the job done during the Stanley Cup Final.

Even the biggest of sports fans would have a tough time topping Blackhawk Bob. He's never missed a home game since 1966, when he was 19 and purchased season tickets.

"The whole season cost me $92.50," he says.

His devotion to the team has helped him score a slew of freebies, meetings, photographs, jerseys and even a full-page article in "Sports Illustrated" titled "The Ice Fan Cometh."

Bob says the game has changed to be faster paced. But he thinks today's young players are every bit as nice and down-to-earth as the players of his youth, like Tony Esposito and Bobby Hull.

He has three season tickets and has never sold one for more than face value.
