T-Shirt Business Printing Around-The-Clock To Meet Demand For Stanley Cup Champion Shirts
(CBS) -- T-shirts celebrating the Blackhawks' third Stanley Cup in six years are selling as fast as store shelves can be stocked.
A T-shirt business in the city's Lincoln Square neighborhood is working to fulfill that need.
"It's been active, yes," said a shell-shocked Ron Weiss at Shirts Our Business, 4949 N. Western Ave.
It's so active that Weiss says production of officially licensed Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship T-shirts has been continuous since the victory party began and so active that no one on the production line, as of 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, had taken the time to model one of the T-shirts that have been screened.
"We have to satisfy our customers," he said.
Weiss said the orders have rolled in all day for "many thousands" of the T-shirts, in red or black. He said printing will continue until there's no more demand.
Weiss said it took several days of around-the-clock work to catch up in 2013 after the Blackhawks' second recent Stanley Cup win, and he added printing continued after that for weeks. Scoring the hat trick of the third title at the United Center -- the Blackhawks' first such clinching victory on home ice since 1938 -- seems to have spurred on sales.

"The rumor is that if the Cubs win, it would be just as good, if not just insane," he said.
How likely is that in his mind? Weiss chuckled.
"Keep your fingers crossed," he said. "Summer's not over."
