Teen Charged With 16-Year-Old Boy's Murder In Humboldt Park
(STMW) -- A teenager has been charged with fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy earlier this year in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 1600 block of North Keeler found Jorge Ruiz shot several times in an alley, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Ruiz, who lived a block away in the 1700 block of North Keeler, was dead at the scene, authorities said.
At the time, police said the shooting may have been gang-related.
On Saturday, police said a teenage boy was charged as an adult with one count of first-degree murder for the attack. His name was not released because he is a minor.
