Police: Man Grabbed Cash From Teller's Hand In Mount Prospect Bank Robbery
(STMW) -- A man robbed a northwest suburban bank Monday by grabbing a handful of cash that a teller had been counting.
The man entered the First Merit Bank branch at 2100 S. Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect about 12:10 p.m. and headed for a teller window, police said.
He grabbed an undisclosed amount in cash that a teller was counting then ran away, police said.
No one was hurt, and he had no interaction with the teller, police said.
The suspected robber is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, about 6-feet with a medium athletic build, police said. He was wearing a black floppy hat with the Chicago White Sox logo, a white T-shirt with the word "NorthShore" on the front, black shorts and white shoes.
Mount Prospect police and the FBI are investigating. Anyone with information should call police at (847) 870-5654.
