Report: Bulls To Re-Sign Aaron Brooks To 1-Year Deal

(CBS) The 2015-'16 Bulls are going to look exactly like the 2014-'15 Bulls, plus Bobby Portis.

Chicago and reserve point guard Aaron Brooks have agreed to a one-year deal, ESPN's Marc Stein reported Tuesday afternoon. With agreements in place for restricted free agent Jimmy Butler and unrestricted free agent Mike Dunleavy, the Bulls have retained the top 12 players in their rotation from last season, plus added first-round draft pick Portis.

Brooks averaged 11.6 points last season, starting 21 of the 82 games he appeared in. He shot 42 percent, including nearly 39 percent from 3-point range. Brooks was often an offensive spark, but foes also made a point to take advantage of him defensively.

It wasn't immediately clear how much Brooks signed for. The Bulls have the mini mid-level exception available that can pay up to about $3.3 million per season and also can sign players to veteran's minimum contracts if they so choose.
