Police: Man Exposed Himself To Child In Austin
(STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who exposed himself to a child Wednesday morning in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
The 12-year-old was asked a question by the man while walking to school in the 700 block of North Leclaire, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.
The man then exposed himself to the child, who told an adult and police were subsequently notified, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man, between 30 and 40 years old, standing between 5-feet-5 and 5-feet-7, weighing about 150 pounds with dark skin, a chunky face and short, black hair, police said. He was wearing a dark, navy blue or black three-quarter-length coat or sweater with a red design across the shoulders and blue jeans.
The man may have a deformed hand and walks with a limp, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Special Investigations Unit at (312) 492-3810.
