Police: 18-Year-Old Man Killed In South Chicago Shooting
(CBS) -- An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said.
The teen was wounded in the torso in the 8100 block of South Manistee around 9:15 a.m. He was transported to Christ Medical Center in critical condition and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Neighbors say the teen was an honor student who just graduated from CVCA High School and was planning to attend one of the City Colleges this fall. They say he was not a member of a gang and believe it is a case of mistaken identity.
