Man Charged With Robbing Pizza delivery driver's Car In Evanston
EVANSTON (CBS) -- A northern suburban man has been charged with robbing the unlocked car of a pizza deliveryman.
About 11:40 p.m. Thursday, July 23, a pizza deliveryman called police to the 1600 block of Hinman Avenue in Evanston when he saw someone going through his vehicle, which he had left unlocked while making a pizza on the block, according to a statement from Evanston police.
The pizza deliveryman held the man and refused to let him run until police arrived.
Patrick Gordon, 50, of Evanston, had opened the middle armrest storage compartment, though no items were missing from the vehicle, police said.
Officers later found two GPS units and an X-box video game in Gordon's possession. He was charged with one count of burglary to a motor vehicle, police said.
Gordon was ordered held on a $15,000 bond and will next appear in court Aug. 10 in Skokie.
