Antti Raanta Was Really Salty At The Blackhawks Last Season

(CBS) Former Blackhawks goalie Antti Raanta was -- and still is -- upset with how he fell on the Blackhawks' depth chart and how the team handled the situation during the team's run to a Stanley Cup last season.

Just how upset? So much so that he recently made the stunning admission to a Finnish newspaper that he was rooting for Chicago to lose its first-round playoff series to Nashville.

"I was really hoping Nashville would beat us in four games and I could get back to Finland," Raanta told Satakunnan Kansa, according to Yahoo Sports. "I was (so pissed off) about how Chicago was treating me."

Raanta, 26, believed that he was in coach Joel Quenneville's doghouse.

"I noticed that coach didn't like me -- in that position it is pretty difficult to fight the windmills," Raanta told the newspaper.

In 14 games in 2014-'15, Raanta compiled a 7-4-1 record with a 1.89 goals against average and .936 save percentage, but he lost the backup goaltending job to Scott Darling in late February and didn't see any postseason action. Darling stepped up huge in the first-round series against Nashville, winning three games after Crawford struggled early in Game 1 and was pulled.

In June, the Blackhawks traded Raanta to the Rangers for forward Ryan Haggerty.
