CHICAGO (CBS) -- Organizers had beautiful weather for Chicago's 46th annual Mexican Independence Day Parade through Little Village on Sunday, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.

Among the mariachis, marching bands, floats and horses were politicians such as Mayor Rahm Emanuel and his last challenger, Cook County Commissioner Chuy Garcia.

"It's a beautiful day here celebrating Mexican Independence Day and all the contributions of the Mexican community of Chicagoland," Garcia said.

"I want to celebrate this great holiday and this recognition of independence day," Emanuel said.
Governor Bruce Rauner and former Governor Pat Quinn also marched in the parade.

Organizers paid tribute this year to honor entrepreneurs who built up the business community in Little Village.
