Report: Some DNA Evidence Test Results In Patrick Kane's Favor

(CBS) Some DNA evidence test results don't support a woman's allegations that Blackhawks player Patrick Kane raped her in early August, according to a media report.

Citing unnamed sources, the Buffalo News reported Saturday that tests of evidence taken from a rape kit show no trace of Kane's DNA on the alleged victim's genital areas or undergarments.

The paper quoted experts as saying that doesn't mean a sexual assault didn't occur. The woman claims Kane raped her when the two were alone in a room of the athlete's upstate New York home in the early morning hours of Aug. 2.

Kane's DNA was found beneath the woman's fingernails and on her shoulders, according to two sources, the paper said.

The 26-year-old Kane hasn't been charged with a crime. He showed up this weekend for Blackhawks training camp at Notre Dame and said he expects to be cleared of any wrongdoing.
