Pleasant Start To Fall For Chicago Area

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Temperatures should be above average all week in Chicago, making for a warm and sunny start to fall.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to average above normal through October, so this warm trend should extend through the middle of next week, as well.

Monday's temperature was already 70 degrees as of 1 p.m. Monday, headed to a high of about 73.

Temperatures should get warmer each day, through Thursday, when it could reach a balmy 80 in Chicago – eight degrees above the normal high for Sept. 24.

On Wednesday, the first day of autumn, the high should be about 79.

Skies should be clear and sunny virtually all week, as well, with only a slight chance of precipitation Friday morning.
