Police Warn Of Violent Robberies In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents of three recent strong-arm robberies in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

In each incident, a robber punches or pushes a female or younger male to the ground before taking their property, such as purses, phones and money, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred:

• About 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 in the 900 block of West 63rd Street;
• About 8:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the 6200 block of South Union Avenue; and
• About 4:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the 6400 block of South Green Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 14 and 24 years old, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9, with afro-style hair and a medium-to-dark complexion, police said. He also has a brown spot on his head.
