Mild Start To Week Before Remnants Of Patricia Bring Rain Tuesday PM

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Monday was expected to be mild and dry across the Chicago area, but as remnants of Hurricane Patricia move north, rain should begin falling Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday, and the week should end with noticeably cooler conditions.

The morning started off chilly for Chicago, with temperatures in the high 30s or low 40s for most of the area, but temperatures were expected to get to a few degrees above normal, with a high of around 63 in the city.

While skies should be clear and dry all day, clouds will move in at night as remnants of Hurricane Patricia make their way into Illinois, and rain should come into play around lunchtime Tuesday. Forecast models show the heaviest rain in northwest Indiana, with spottier showers across northern Illinois, but that could change by the time the system arrives.

Rain will continue to be a possibility on Wednesday, and both Tuesday and Wednesday should see high temperatures in the upper 50s.

Once the leftovers of Hurricane Patricia pass through, winds should pick up, and temperatures will drop, with highs only in the low 50s on Thursday and Friday.

Halloween should be a bit closer to normal, with a high of about 55 on Saturday, and a 30 percent chance of showers, though it should by no means be a washout for trick-or-treaters.
