Sports Stadiums On Heightened Alert After Paris Terror Attacks

CHICAGO (CBS) -- At least one of the Paris attackers tried to enter France's national soccer stadium during the attacks. That news is causing sporting events across the globe to review their own security.

While there's no known threat to any stadium in Chicago, CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports teams like the Blackhawks are heightening their own security

The NHL says they've sent an advisory to clubs to be on heightened alert following the attacks in Paris. The NFL issued a statement saying, "Following the events in Paris … (we) have been in communication with the department of homeland security and the FBI ... which have informed us that there are no known threats against any NFL stadiums."

The league goes on to say you can expect more law enforcement both inside and outside stadiums. That will be the theme for sporting events for the near term. The Calgary Flames play the Blackhawks Sunday night at the United Center and the Pacers play the Bulls here on Monday.
