Man Robs Avondale Bank

(STMW) -- A man robbed a TCF Bank branch Friday afternoon in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The man walked into the bank at 3570 N. Elston Ave. about 4:40 p.m. and demanded money, according to Chicago Police and the FBI. He then ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He did not show or imply a weapon, police said. No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white man with a large build, standing between 5-feet-11 and 6-feet-2, the FBI said. He was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, a dark gray hat, blue jeans and black boots.
