Report: Cubs Sign Infielder Munenori Kawasaki To Minor League Deal
(CBS) The Cubs have signed infielder Munenori Kawasaki to a minor-league deal, FOX Sports insider Jon Morosi reported.
A native of Japan, Kawasaki has hit .242 with 43 RBIs in three seasons in the majors with the Blue Jays. He will fight for a roster spot with the Cubs in spring training.
Perhaps Kawasaki is best known as a fan favorite for his outgoing personality, which reached stardom with an interview after his first career walk-off hit in 2013.
