Source: Bears Express Interest In DE Akiem Hicks

(CBS) The Bears are among several teams expressing interest in 26-year-old defensive end Akiem Hicks, according to a source close to the situation. The story was first reported on Twitter by Kevin Fishbain of ChicagoFootball.com.
Hicks was identified in part by Ryan Pace, the Bear general manager who was part of the Saints brass that drafted the University of Regina product in the third round in 2012.
A 6-foot-5, 324-pound defensive end, Hicks had three sacks in 13 games with the Patriots last season. He had previously played four seasons with the Saints, posting 117 tackles in his first three seasons with New Orleans.
With the legal tampering period underway, the Bears have been linked to several names throughout the free-agent market.
