Two Men Charged With Fatal Austin Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were charged with fatally shooting a 23-year-old man Thursday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Decorian Collins, 22, and Lamar Williams, 24, were both charged with first-degree murder for shooting 23-year-old Jonathan Sanchez, according to Chicago Police.

About 11:50 p.m., officers found Sanchez lying on the sidewalk in the 4700 block of West Huron with a gunshot wound to the head, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:07 a.m.

Collins, of the 400 block of North Long, was ordered held on $1 million bond Sunday, according to Cook County sheriff's office. Williams, who lives in the 4600 block of West Erie, was also charged with domestic battery in March and on Sunday was ordered held without bond.

Collins is next scheduled to appear in court Monday, while Williams is scheduled for a Tuesday hearing.
