Police: 16-Year-Old Killed, Man Wounded In Englewood Shooting

(STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old man was killed in a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Monday afternoon, police said.

The two were outside in the 7300 block of South Sangamon about 4:45 p.m. when a male wearing a black hoodie shot them, police said.

The 16-year-old was dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not confirm the death Monday evening.

The man was shot in the shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
