Cool And Breezy Week Ahead For Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It was a cold and foggy start to the day for Chicago on Tuesday, and while the fog has mostly cleared out, chilly temperatures will be sticking around for a while.

After hitting the 80s on Monday, Chicago will see temperatures no better than about 50 on Tuesday.

While scattered storms dropped hail up to an inch in diameter Monday night, there were no widespread reports of damage. Rain chances will go back and forth during the week, with widespread showers Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, before clearing up going into Friday. Rain likely returns over the weekend, with chances for showers and thunderstorms Saturday night through Monday morning.

Conditions will continue to be cool and breezy through the week, with highs in the low to mid 50s through Saturday.

Temperatures will get only slightly better on Sunday and the start of next week, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
