White Sox To Skip Carlos Rodon's Next Start Because Of Neck Discomfort

(CBS) The White Sox will skip left-hander Carlos Rodon's scheduled start Thursday against the Nationals because he has neck discomfort.

The ailment isn't viewed as serious, but the White Sox want to take a cautious approach. Right-hander Miguel Gonzalez -- who was relegated to a bullpen role after the acquisition of James Shields on Saturday -- will start in Rodon's place. Rodon is only expected to miss one start.

The 23-year-old Rodon is 2-5 with a 4.41 ERA and 1.50 WHIP this season.
