Man Found Dead In East Garfield Park

Police are investigating after a man was found dead early Thursday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person down in the 3200 block of West Washington at 1:59 a.m. found the man on the sidewalk with trauma to the back of his head, according to Chicago Police.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, was dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the death but did not immediately release further details.

Detectives were conducting a death investigation Thursday morning.
