White Sox Trade Zach Duke To Cardinals For Prospect Charlie Tilson

(CBS) The White Sox made their first move Sunday morning in what could be a busy stretch before Monday's trade deadline.

Chicago traded left-handed reliever Zach Duke to St. Louis in exchange for Triple-A outfielder Charlie Tilson. Duke is 2-0 with a 2.63 ERA this season.

The 23-year-old Tilson has hit .282 with four homers, 34 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in 100 games at Triple-A Memphis this season. His on-base percentage is .345.

"Charlie is a left-handed hitting outfielder whose speed and defensive ability enable him to do a number of things well to help win ball games," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said in a statement. "We have liked him as a player since the Cardinals selected him out of New trier in the second round in 2011."

Tilson is a native of Wilmette.
