Rockford Mall On Lockdown Following Shooting

(CBS) – A Rockford shopping mall was placed on lockdown Friday following what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred at the CherryVale Mall, WIFR reports.

Police say bullets hit glass between two stores. Some workers and customers were inside talking with police.

“Due to an incident that happened in the parking lot earlier this evening, the mall is currently closed. We are working closely with local authorities as they continue their investigation,” mall operators said in a social media posting.
