Woman, 70, Dies After Being Struck By Red Line Train

(STMW) -- A woman died Saturday morning after she was struck by a CTA Red Line train in the Wrigleyville neighborhood on the North Side.

The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was struck by the train about 7:40 a.m. at the Addison station, 940 W. Addison St., according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said. Police were conducted a death investigation.

The Cook County medical examiner's office did not confirm the death.

Minor residual delays were reported to Red Line trains at 10 a.m.
