Bears Receiver Kevin White Suffers Ankle Injury

By Chris Emma--

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Bears receiver Kevin White limped off the field and slammed his helmet down to the ground. He was in serious pain after an injury to his left ankle Sunday against the Lions.

Afterward, coach John Fox couldn't confirm the extent of White's injury. He wouldn't return in the Bears' 17-14 victory over the Lions.

At the time of the injury, White had six receptions for 55 yards, his best game in the NFL. The injury was to the same left leg which endured a stress fracture in 2015, forcing him to miss the entire season.

After a slow start to his NFL career, White had seemed to grow more comfortable with his place in the Bears offense. Confidence had finally found his game. Now, the latest injury could bring a disruption to that progress.

The Bears stayed relatively healthy in their victory, with Leonard Floyd (calf) and Tracy Porter (knee) as the only other injuries. However, Fox said that both could've returned if needed.

Monday brings the beginning of Week 5 and more information to the Bears' injury report, which is now headlined by White.
