CBS Films Releases First Trailer For Boston Marathon Bombing Movie

CHICAGO (CBS) – CBS Films released Wednesday the first trailer for "Patriots Day," an upcoming movie about the Boston Marathon bombings.

The movie recreates one of the most refined manhunts in law enforcement history and portrays the strength Boston had during that time, by weaving together stories of a special agent, a police commissioner, a sergeant and a nurse.

CBS Boston said filmmakers spent months shooting scenes throughout the area.

"Patriots Day" stars Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons and Michelle Monaghan.

It premieres Dec. 12 in Boston, New York and Los Angeles. It opens Jan. 13 nationwide.

"Patriots Day" is being produced by WBBM-TV's sister company CBS Films.
