One Killed, One Wounded In Austin Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A person was killed and another was wounded Friday during a shooting in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side, according to Chicago Police.

At 12:36 p.m., a shooting happened near LeClaire and North Avenues, police said. A 20-year-old man, on foot, was shot in the neck and the leg, while standing on the street. He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

Another shot entered a CTA bus and struck a 57-year-old man in the back. He was transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

The bus operator was also transported to Stroger Hospital for unknown causes.

All shots were fired from offenders on foot, in the 1500 block of North Leclaire.
