Watch: Mike Leach Respects Joe Maddon A Lot But Sounds Off On There Being 'Too Many Cubs Fans'

(CBS) Washington State football coach Mike Leach has always been one to share his mind, and amid the World Series, he has a cross-sport take chiming in on the Cubs.

At a press conference earlier this week, Leach emphasized he has great respect for manager Joe Maddon but then went on a mini-rant, saying there's "too many Cubs fans."

"Every yuppie with a BMW or some special attachment to his computer or some designer set of jeans or something like that is a Cubs fan and refers to it as 'my Cubbies,'" Leach said. "Any time you say 'my' in front of your team, well, that's dubious, OK? 'My this, my that' -- come on now. And so you get 'my Cubbies.' You don't get 'my Indians.'

"There's just too many out-of-the-woodwork people that like them, just like them because they like the uniforms, don't know the first thing about baseball."

Watch Leach's comments in full below.

Game 2 is set for Wednesday night at 6:08 p.m., with the Indians leading the series 1-0. The hometown call can be heard on 670 The Score.
