Boy, 16, Seriously Injured In Washington Park Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 16-year-old boy was seriously wounded Friday evening in a Washington Park neighborhood shooting on the South Side.

About 6:25 p.m., he was walking in the 100 block of East 56th Street when he heard gunfire and realized he'd been shot in the leg, back and pelvis, according to Chicago Police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

Police said the boy wasn't cooperating with detectives. The shooting was thought to be gang-related.
