(CBS) The Blackhawks have signed 21-year-old defenseman Luc Snuggerud to a three-year deal, they announced Wednesday. He’s under team control through the 2019-’20 season.

A fifth-round pick of Chicago’s in the 2014 draft, Snuggerud will report to AHL Rockford. He recently completed his junior season at Nebraska-Omaha, where he was second-team honoree for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. He had 11 goals and 20 assists in 39 games.
