(CBS) The Bears have their young quarterback, moving up to the second pick to take North Carolina’s Mitchell Trubisky in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday evening.
In a move considered surprising around the league, general manager Ryan Pace elected to trade four draft picks — the No. 3 pick, a third-round and fourth-round pick in this draft, plus a third-rounder for 2018 — in order to select Trubisky, who said he learned of the pick from watching on TV.
Afterward, Trubisky received the call from Pace and head coach John Fox.
