Boneshaker 2012: Halloween At Redmoon Theater
Redmoon Theater (1463 W. Hubbard, www.redmoon.org) has been transforming the physical and cultural landscapes of Chicago since 1990. They've taken art to new heights and to the streets. On October 27, 2012, the spectacle was brought indoors with Boneshaker 2012, a Day of the Dead-inspired party that was much more merry than macabre. The event featured original Redmoon concepts such as DJ Mobile Unit 2.0, DJ FIRE, Skeleton drummers, and even a Punk Bird Choir. Guests dressed in their finest DIY costumes (think "Binders Full of Women") and store-bought garb (Greek gods and royalty--talk about the .000001%). Partygoers who made it to the witching hour were treated to a pancake breakfast provided by Baby Cakes. (Writing: Danette Chavez / Photo Credit: Christina Noël Photography)
