Bronzeville Nursing Home Resident Fatally Shot While Running Errands

Tuesday night, lifelong South Shore resident Christon Barlow was out picking up a few things for other nursing home residents and the staff, when he was shot and killed.

1 Killed, 3 Injured In Bronzeville Drive-By Near CPD Headquarters

A 52-year-old man was killed and three other people injured in a Bronzeville neighborhood drive-by shooting Tuesday evening, about a block away from Chicago Police Department headquarters.

Construction Set For Two New Bridges Linking Bronzeville To Lakefront

Construction has been slated to begin this fall on two new pedestrian and bicycle bridges over Lake Shore Drive at 41st and 43rd streets. They will replace an outdated bridge at 43rd Street that has no ramp for bicycle or wheelchair access.

Hundreds Of Gallons Of Acid Leaked From Truck Near U.S. Cellular Field

Fire Department crews were sent to 35th Street and Wentworth Avenue around 12:30 p.m., after a tanker truck carrying 3,500 gallons of muriatic acid began leaking its contents.
