The two, ages 13 and 15, were shot in the 1200 block of West 73rd Place about 5:50 p.m., police said. Both teens were outside when a gunman yelled gang slogans and opened fire, police said.
Jeremy O’Neal, 25, was charged with one count of aggravated battery to a child under 13 causing permanent disability, according to a statement issued by Chicago Police early Friday.
The most recent fatal shooting was a double homicide that left another man injured Sunday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The youngest person wounded was a boy thought to be 5 or 6, who was shot in the shoulder about 5:40 p.m. near 56th and Mozart streets.
