Man Wounded In Belmont Cragin Shooting

About 6:20 p.m., the man was sitting in the rear passenger seat of a vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign in the 2200 block of North Austin Avenue, police said. Someone in group of males standing on the corner nearby fired shots.

Suspect Charged With Murder Of 13-Year-Old Boy

Anthony Diaz, 13, was killed in front of his 16- and 17-year-old sisters Sunday night, after the sisters went out to fight someone over an argument that started on Facebook. Prosecutors said 18-year-old Roberto Madrigal walked up and shot Anthony. Madrigal has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.

A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in front of his sisters in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood late Sunday, and his family said the shooting might have been the result of a post on Facebook.
