The city declared the brick bungalow at 6207 W. Roscoe St. uninhabitable in April. Sometime later, after the lone resident was evicted, someone broke a couple basement windows, and black cats poured out of the house, and invaded the neighborhood.
The fatal shooting happened about 10:45 p.m. in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side. A 22-year-old man was driving in the 11100 block of South Hamlet Avenue when a black SUV pulled alongside and a gunman inside shot him in the abdomen, police said.
The 26-year-old man was in a garage with a friend about 12:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of North McVicker Avenue when someone walked up, fired shots at them and ran away.
Two men were early Monday hospitalized after being shot on the city’s Northwest Side, in what was first believed to be a road rage incident but turned out to be a gang-related attack.
