Most recently, a man died after he was shot Wednesday evening in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side. The 23-year-old was in an alley in the 1100 block of West 51st Street about 7:30 p.m. when someone approached him, pulled out a handgun and started firing, police said.
About 6 p.m., a man was shot to death less than two blocks from President Barack Obama’s Kenwood home. The 25-year-old was in a vehicle when another vehicle approached, and someone in that vehicle fired shots, police said. The victim drove to the 1300 block of East 50th Street, where the vehicle came to a stop, police said.
A man was killed and a woman was injured in a Brighton Park neighborhood shooting Saturday night on the Southwest Side, police said.
In the most recent fatal shooting, a man was killed and a woman was wounded Monday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
The latest fatal shooting was a gang-related attack at a Brighton Park neighborhood gas station just before 3 p.m., police said.
Officers responded to a home burglary around 1:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of West Pershing Road, and found a man suspected of being involved in the crime. The man started sweating, and breathing heavily while in custody, so police notified paramedics.
The latest shooting happened about 9:50 p.m. in West Englewood, where a 19-year-old man was walking in the 1700 block of West 61st Place when he heard gunshots and realized he’d been struck in the leg, police said.
About 8:30 p.m., the two were outside in the 2700 block of West 38th Street when a red SUV drove up and an occupant got out and fired at them, police said.
About 11:20 p.m., the 22-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 3800 block of South Kedzie Avenue when the male driver of a white SUV fired shots in his direction, police said.
About 7:25 p.m., a man was shot and killed in the Englewood neighborhood. Officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 7000 block of South Sangamon found 28-year-old Antonio Galtney with gunshot wounds to the armpit and thigh, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The fatal shooting happened about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side. The 24-year-old woman was a passenger in a vehicle in the 4500 block of North Broadway when gunfire erupted and she was struck in the head.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder about 6:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 71st Street in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died.
About 7:15 p.m., the 20-year-old was arguing with another male about “an old conflict” when the other male pulled out a gun and shot the man in the wrist and chest in the 3800 block of South Kedzie Avenue, police said.
A 28-year-old man was shot inside a McDonald’s near 38th and Archer in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Rene Arredondo, 31, was shot in the head about 5 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Rockewell, officials said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The other man, 18, was shot in the arm and back and was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he is listed in serious condition
A man was taken into custody Tuesday night after he led police on a chase and crashed into five parked vehicles and a CTA bus in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
Most recently, two men were wounded in a shooting in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side. The men, ages 22 and 24, were standing outside in the 1800 block of South Hamlin about 9:15 p.m., when someone shot them both.
Police are warning Southwest Side residents about a series of burglaries this month in the Brighton Park neighborhood.
Roberto Rosalio was last seen about noon near Hartgrove Hospital. Police said Wednesday that Roberto had been found and was reunited with family.
Police are searching for an 11-year-old boy who went missing Tuesday afternoon from the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.
