Andres Gamez, 33, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault of a family member under 18 and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 5 years old, according to the McHenry County sheriff’s office.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office says the boy was assaulted last April, and it’s taken this long for authorities to run the DNA evidence and then find 45-year-old David Vega.
Woodstock police were called to a home in the 1500 block North Seminary Avenue about 11 a.m. Sunday to a report of the sexual assault of a child under 13.
