Woman, 94, Fatally Struck By Dump Truck In Des Plaines

Firefighters responded about 2:15 p.m. to a strip mall in the 700 block of Golf Road, Des Plaines Fire Chief Alan Wax said. Lilah M. DePaul, 94, was struck and killed by a truck in a parking lot there, authorities said.

A wrong-way driver’s van and two other vehicles crashed at 4:40 a.m. in the inbound lanes of I-290 at the Des Plaines exit, according to Illinois State Police. The wrong-way driver was charged with DUI and additional charges were pending against him, Illinois State Police said.
