Before today, Chicagoans had travel outside the city to indulge in Sonic, a drive-in fast food restaurant established in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Well, the wait for one within Chicago’s city limits — and it was a long wait — is finally over. The Sonic Drive-In in Uptown opened its doors to the public Thursday.
The one-night-only drive-in theater was to show off Gary’s lakefront Marquette Park, newly refurbished at a cost of $30 million. CBS 2’s Mike Parker reports.
